Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute procurement strategies for plastics, ensuring a reliable and cost-effective supply chain
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiating contracts and terms to secure the best pricing and quality
- Monitor market trends and industry developments to stay informed about changes in the plastics market
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand the organization's plastic material requirements and develop sourcing plans accordingly
- Manage supplier relationships, conducting regular performance evaluations and implementing improvement plans as needed
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as relevant regulations and standards
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with production teams to optimize stock levels and minimize shortages
- Analyze data and generate reports to track key performance indicators and identify areas for improvement
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
- Proven experience as a Commodity Buyer, preferably in the plastics industry
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Proficient in using procurement software and tools
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards in the plastics industry
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
